Hello there, dear reader. You may have noticed that Nerdy Wordy hasn’t been updated in some time. When I started posting here at the beginning of July, I had every intention of posting here consistently. And then, well, life happened. I went out of town at the end of July and, due to poor planning, didn’t schedule enough posts to cover my entire absence. And then once I found myself behind, I guess the lazy part of my brain thought “well, I guess I may as well take the entire month of August off.” In retrospect, I probably should have put off starting this blog until things had settled down. Now that autumn is approaching, life should be more predictable (I hope!) and should be able to post with more regularity.
In my absence, I’ve come to the realization that I want to shift the focus of Nerdy Wordy somewhat. My original intent was to post about twice a week about anything relating to the written word. I’ve spend so much time writing about journal writing that it has become clear to me that that is what I wan to write about for this blog. However, instead of posting twice a week, I think I’m going to keep it to once. I want to focus on lists of three (or “Thursday three” as I’ve been calling it) every Thursday. These lists can be anything from journal prompts to tips and tricks to anything else that crosses my mind. I mean, I may occasionally post longer form essay types posts (which I’ll probably post on Tuesday), but the lists are what I want to focus on. Clearly, Nerdy Wordy is still a new blog and I’m trying to figure out what works and doesn’t work. Please bear with me.
And finally, I have some other projects in the works and I hope to start sharing them in the upcoming months. I feel kind of weird even mentioning them here because they’re not directly related to the content of Nerdy Wordy. That said, maybe you like me and I’ve piqued your interest. If that’s the case, I encourage you to sign up for my newsletter thingy hosted on TinyLetter. Once signed up, you will receive Email updates about Nerdy Wordy as well as my other projects. Your Email address will be used solely for the purpose of sending out updates through TinyLetter – promise. You can see more posts from me starting this week. Peace out.
